Due to our one month delay we had the opportunity of seeing one of our granddaughters, Sister Davis in the MTC. It was a happy time for all of us.
Our first encounter was when she was checking in. As we were awaiting her arrival in the main lobby during lunch time, where other missionaries were arriving, Sister Martin had a feeling she should go outside. I followed and we saw all the arriving cars turning left, away from us instead of the direction of the main lobby. She asked an MTC volunteer where all the new missionaries were arriving. He took us to the area where they came up stairs and entered their orientation room. There where hundreds arriving that day. Just as we got there she had come up the stairs and entered the building. A little miracle and tender blessing for us!
We also ran into her at lunch and another time when she was about to walk into her residence hall. Terry needed to fill the request of her other grandma to give Sister Davis a hug from her.
The picture at the top of this blog shows Sister Davis with her companion when we picked up some Panda Express for all of us for dinner. We were all getting tired of cafeteria food.
May Heavenly Father bless you Sister Davis as you serve in the Syracuse New York Mission.
During one seminar we were taught how Sister Missionaries are given Priesthood authority.
We enjoyed going to the Provo Temple one last time before they rebuild it next year. We felt the peaceful Spirit as they prayed for the missionaries in the temple. What a wonderful experience.
We were reminded how to treat each other and reduce stress.
We were taught about safety and security concerns.
Had another great week of training - Welfare and Humanitarian focus.
These were inspiring quotes that helped us understand more about the work we are about to do.
Learned what the current priorities are for different areas in the Church humanitarian program.
We'll be part of the Africa Central Area,
Good trainings El & Sis Martin.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter Sherri and Clark lived in Syracuse, NY. It is close to Palmyra NY and Niagara Falls. There's a lovely lake and walk. They also have Lindt chocolate factory, and good Ice cream.
