Coming unto Christ - After New Year Celebrations - Visitors from America - Great food with couples -

4 friends coming unto Christ and were baptized in the last 2 weeks in our branch. Wow!

Elder Goodrich, Brother Tsegay, Brother Melaku, Sister Waynshet

Brother Demeke Midekssa Gud was baptized last week at the main branch in Megenagna because we had no water at our branch.

What? This week we actually had enough water to fill the font. How did this happen? Amazing, impossible, miracle. (Elder England, Elder Annan and Elder Goodrich were as shocked as us)

These two brothers with Elder Hogan are from a neighboring group called Birayu that is under our branch president as well. One only speaks Oromia language, different from the language most speak here which is Amharic.

Sister Martin took my picture while we were at the mission office and Elder and Sister Woodbury were finalizing details for the YSA Conference.

We were invited by friends to visit their extended family for a New Year's week celebration. They offered us some good Habesha food as well.

They had some Ethiopian New Year's flowers on display.

Then they showed us their thriving business. They make children's clothing for various stores such as one in the Mercato in Addis Ababa.  They plan to expand and move to a bigger place and hire more workers.

Fevan, Abdi's nephew and Abdi.

Abdi's Aunts, pictured above and below.

Had some great meals with couples lately...

President and Sister Cowley joined us at one of our favorite places to eat that serves Lebanese food.

We had unexpected visitors at our District Meeting. Brother and Sister Lee and their elder son came to Ethiopia to drop off some humanitarian supplies from America. Their son, Elder Lee, is serving here. They ended up staying only a couple of days because all the flights back were booked or overbooked due to the upcoming New Year. They borrowed my phone to book their flights because their connection was inadequate.

Several of the young missionaries joined the Lees and us for lunch at a local restaurant. The brother on the left is Elder Lee's brother, a recently returned missionary currently going to BYU. He was worried about getting back in time for his classes.

Elder and Sister Woodbury are kind enough to share their favorite places with us before they go. We are savoring all the moments we can with them.  This place was a roasted chicken place named, Amrogan.
