We went to a mall with the Senior Couples for lunch and surprise, there was a Christmas Tree. We don't see a lot of Christmas decorations where we are. But we do have some Nativities set up in our apartment. This is our second Christmas foregoing the normal festivities at home, however, we feel the love of our Savior with our simple decorations of the birth of the Son of God. We hope you all have a Merry Christmas!
There was a new restaurant there that offered Burgers, Cheeseburgers, Tofu Burgers, Tuna sandwiches, etc.

On Sunday after church everyone stayed to practice our song, "Away in a Manger."
We went to the mission home to have a final dinner and farewell to Elder and Sister Oba. We will miss this fun couple who served in so many ways to bless the lives of the people here as well as make relationships with the African Union. They always took us to the best restaurants in town. One time for Elder Oba's birthday, we all invited ourselves to celebrate with him at a Japanese restaurant. It was soo good. Sister Oba brought a bunch of balloons that we blew up and gave away to children in the restaurant.

Our Mission Leaders asked me to make curry chicken so I made one of my favorites from India, Kanagi's Cashew Chicken Curry.

Safe travels and
We attended part of a baptism program for a new brother who has chosen to follow Christ.
The reason I say part is because we were delayed leaving our apartment until the time it started. Also, since there is currently massive construction near the church building, there is no parking, so we walk. That's normally not a problem, as it's only about a 20 minute walk, but that put us toward the end of the program.
We enjoyed the rest of the program and meeting the new brother.

Brother Abayneh invited us over to see his charitable organization called Rehoboth Feeding and Study Center.
After seeing a great need, in 2011 he and his family decided to start this organization to help children and single mothers. They hold an after school tutoring program and take them on field trips to encourage them to continue their education.
Unexpectedly, after the tour his wife served some traditional Ethiopian food. Fun time.
We enjoyed meeting his wife and mother-in-law. We are so thankful for our driver who takes us where we want to go. We would not have found this place without him.
