Missionaries and members - So Many Miracles - Back to Utah for 2 weeks

 

We're blessed with lots of good friends and members here. And I always love to cook for the Sister Missionaries. They are dedicated to the work here and are always thinking of others. 

Even though Sister Martin was just made the Relief Society President, she still helps in the Primary every other week.

Sister Martin helped a member named Micky upload his family names in Family Search.

Alemitu who is a single mother, who participated in the trade school humanitarian project that we helped to get started, received her certificate and is graduating in hair dressing. She was so happy and hopeful that this will help her be employed to provide for her family. She is holding another certificate she just earned for business. 

We've had a lot of miracles shared on our weekly miracle call. Here are just a few:

Elder Lee. Priesthood Blessings

Elder England talked about his friends serving missions in other parts of the world. They recently asked him to teach some Ethiopians online and answer their question in their own language.

Elder Okon talked about friends bringing their friends to learn about the Gospel. He talked about the powerful spirit they experienced while teaching as it is translated into Sidama language.

Elder Muzhanje talked about a friend they are teaching that asked when they can be baptized and he said we will help you prepare so you are ready. She then asked if they could teach her brother and baptize him also.

Elder Watkins. The miracle and power of Fasting to overcome addictions.

We decided to fly home to Utah for two weeks for a funeral and to comfort and have fun with family. That's why I haven't done a blog in a while. I didn't have much access to use the Internet.

Our first stop when we arrived in Salt Lake City was to get one of our favorites, "Curry in a Hurry."

Our Smith's grocery store in town was rebuilt and made into a Smith's Marketplace. They have the biggest grocery stores in America. We were like kids in a candy store!

I was asked to speak at the funeral and dedicate the grave. I wrote down a few memories of my mom.

I love knowing about the Plan of Salvation at a time like this, knowing that our spirit continues on after this life is over. The future resurrection, a great gift from Jesus Christ, gives me comfort and hope. 

The Relief Society provided a nice meal for the family.

During the meal, many took the opportunity to share memories.

It was a beautiful, wintery day with lots of snow.

We saw a lot of family that we hadn't seen in years. 

Went to see my dad several times. He is only 95. It was nice to see him smile at this hard time.

Then we saw lot's of family and had fun seeing grandchildren. Wow.

 

So many dinner invites with our family we both gained 10 pounds.

Owen made strawberry pina coladas for us. 

It's raining tacos...

We had family prayer with some grandchildren one evening, and even the dog bowed his head.

Christian barbecued his own hamburger recipe; One of the best burgers ever!

Fun visiting family and fun food everyday.

Even a fun basketball game for our grandson, #42. His team wiped them out.

We loved attending one grandson's Priesthood ordination.

More time with my dad and daughter.

Played some songs my dad taught me on the ukulele to try and cheer him up.
