FHE wow Attendance - Missionary Brother - Time with New PR Couple and others - New Light - Headline News

 

Sister Martin made her traditional banana cake for Family History Event. This was for our new branch Family Home Evening at the church.  

Wow! Over 30 attended the event.

 

I didn't get a picture but Sister Martin had this great idea to hold up a sheet down the middle of the room. Everyone on one side was told they had died and are now in the Spirit World. The other side represented everyone on earth. The sheet represented the veil between them where no one could see the other side.

We talked about missionary work going on in the spirit world. Many spirits there hoped their posterity would do Family History and temple work for them.

Several members worked on creating new accounts and others expanded by adding names to their Family History. 

The Branch President helped us with translating and individual teaching.

The young missionaries were also helping everyone.

Family History is fun, especially when you start collecting and adding pictures and stories of your ancestors. The time passed quickly, so we will be doing another one this week.

This church branch has beautiful landscaping.

We were invited to a zoom meeting, missionary farewell.

Sister Martin's oldest brother and his wife in California gave great farewell talks. They will serve their mission in Colorado. 

Sister Martin and I went back one last time to University Branch Sunday meetings to set up ministering and encourage everyone to contact each other and strengthen one another as Jesus Christ would. We also had a lesson by our Sister Missionaries about "Seek Him (Jesus) with All Your Heart" by L. Todd Budge a member of the Presiding Bishopric. 

Looks like Primary class was with Relief Society today.

We enjoyed our lunch meeting with Elder and Sister Makuwa, the new Communications and Public Relations couple from Namibia, Africa. It's exciting to see their enthusiasm for establishing good relations with the African Union. In fact, they already were acquainted with an ambassador from another country that was sitting at the table next to us. 

Our driver's mother invited us for her annual gratitude dinner. She prepared food to share with her family, friends, neighbors and nearby homeless people. About two years ago, she had a serious break in  her leg and now she can walk again. So once a year she holds this dinner to thank the Lord for all of her blessings.

Dropping by the mission office to see our wonderful mission leaders and senior sister missionaries. We sometimes face challenges, but we smile through it all and keep hoping for better, brighter days.

We had a great time at lunch with our senior sister missionaries and forgot to take a picture together, so we took one at the mission office where they work.

Do you think we need a new kitchen light??

Fun time eating Chinese food. I taught the other two how to use chopsticks to eat with.
