Fun YSA Event - Construction - Zone Conf - Storm

In Ethiopia, General Conference was a week later so translations could be completed. The Branch President asked me to show one session Saturday and one on Sunday in English using my laptop. Our numbers were few for English so that worked out good.

Then on Sunday afternoon we were asked to run the YSA (Young Single Adult) gathering.

We had fun introducing ourselves and how we get along even though we have differences.

Sister Martin was so good at putting together our topic on "Good Relationships" and guiding me through what we should say and do.

I began by talking about a plaque that was on my grandpa's wall that I remembered seeing as a child. It always made me laugh.

And another one...

We then showed a couple of fun videos and pictures on good and bad relationships.

Sister Martin organized a Speed Dating friendship building game that they all loved. We had two groups; English and Amharic language. Cell phones were put away, so they could engage in eye contact and real listening.

Questions were provided in both languages that they chose to ask each other to get to know one another.

Even Elder and Sister Woodbury posed for this picture demonstrating poor communication, perhaps for a future event.

Our District President also joined in the fun.

Many came up to us after and said it was a fun event. Perhaps we all learned something new.

Sister Martin took some roof-top pictures of the construction going on around our apartment building.

Looks like donkeys have the right of way on Ethiopian roads.

Zone Conference had a variety of talks and was a little different than usual.

They asked me to sing at the last minute. I was happy to join them but hardly knew the song.

For Zone conference the young missionaries went out street contacting and then came back and shared their interesting experiences.

Sister Martin took a video of us driving in a hail storm.
