Elder Martin not coming to dinner - Chicken coupes - clean church after baptism - So many Miracles

For this Sunday dinner I decided to make two kinds of curry. One was Kerala fish curry, a recipe we enjoyed from India. Unfortunately, after I finished preparing the food, I had no appetite, started getting the chills and went straight to bed. Sister Martin said the Sister's really missed me. I received calls to wish me a Happy Father's Day, and I was too sick to even take the calls. 

Luckily/Thankfully, the next week I was there to help eat curry chicken with them. 

Wow! Sister Martin made us all a fresh Mango smoothy. It was freezing cold and added an extra chill to Sister Udoekong who was already chilled and bundled up due to the cooler weather. 

For a member based self-reliance/humanitarian project, we have been working on a Poultry business project. This project goal is to help those who have little or no income generate some income to help sustain their families by selling eggs.   

We hired a carpenter / member to build some chicken coupes.

We recently received our first piano for our branch. Yea! 

But...they are all so used to singing without any accompaniment, that when they try to use the piano they like to revert back to singing without it.

Elder Waters plays a little bit but not very many songs. The branch members also don't know most of the hymns and have certain hymns they like to sing, which limits what he can accompany. They also sing only in English since the hymn book isn't translated into their local language yet.

We went to a meeting at the trade school that is teaching some of our members a new trade such as: Clothing making, Hair dressing, barbering and woodworking. 

Since so many lack skills here and need good jobs, we checked out another trade school that looks promising. They have a lot of trades.

The clothing making school began by teaching them to draw or design the clothes.

This was the leather making school.

The auto mechanics school had vehicles and engines to learn from. 

The woodworking school sells the items they make. This bed that converts into a bench sells for about $200-$300 US dollars.

The class upstairs was teaching all about the Solar business.

And here's the Electrician room.

Then we went into the mobile phone maintenance classroom.

Machine shop.

Hospitality and food preparation business. Kitchens and even a bedroom.

A nice daycare center for single mothers.

Afterwards we went to lunch with our District Self-Reliance leader.

Oh, time to replace our shower filter that we brought from home.

It's the starting of the rainy season here. Next to our branch church is a private school. The children just kept playing even though it was raining harder.

Then we enjoyed going to another baptism in our branch. So many are choosing to come unto Jesus Christ. During the baptism and then during the confirmation and Gift of the Holy Ghost I felt and always feel such a wonderful peaceful feeling which testifies of the truth of the Gospel to my soul. And it's not just a warm feeling, it is like pure joy flowing into my mind and spirit that brings me closer to God. 

Now it's time to clean the church. This little boy to the right likes to come to church with his brothers. They are not members but enjoy coming. He kept asking me what he could do to help clean the building. I told him to ask this brother and he gave him different assignments. 

Another one of our good friends that is also not a member of our Church likes to be here. His is moping our chapel getting it ready for church services and sacrament meeting the next day.

An finally we'll end with a few miracle calls from the young missionaries. 

Elder Gomez talked about someone hitting him in the face while they were talking to people on the street. He said he kept Christ-like poise and didn't resort to violence and hit back. Our video call was about to end abruptly, so he was unable to go into more details about his experience.
