Party with Sisters - Burger Quest - Missionary Musical - GOAT - Ethiopian restaurant - TV - Party

The Relief Society sisters came to our apartment for an activity.

Sister Martin gave each sister a flower, each a different variety, to remind them that they are all unique and beautiful children of God, but together they make a beautiful bouquet.

Before it started, Sister Martin made a banana cake.

The Relief Society president came over early and helped cook some Ethiopian dishes.

They all enjoyed getting to know each other better with a few games.

Then some dancing around the TV to some lively Habesha music videos.

We attended a missionary musical fireside. The young missionaries sang a variety of songs, even from the Disney movie, Prince of Egypt.

Beautiful missionaries that were filled with the spirit of God, touched our hearts as they performed.

They also did funny skits, all in the Amharic language. One member from the Tigray region, who speaks Amharic as a second language, came up to me after and said they could speak the language better than he could.

We laughed and cried loving every bit of it. They had translation headphones for us.

So many members and friends came to this wonderful activity.

After 10 months of looking, we finally found a good tasting burger at two different places.

We heard this goat was going to be served at a branch EQ activity.

They were going to have a sheep for the meal but after considering President Nelson's birthday wish that we all go find the 99 + 1 lost sheep, they decided the goat would be a better choice.

Is that a heard of goats going in front of our apartment??

Sister Martin and I wanted to try out this new restaurant across the street from our apartment.

Joined by some friends

We had special cooked kitfo with injera, rolls and a cheese-like dip with greens.

We also ate Shekla tibs. It's like barbecue beef strips.

They have a tradition like India that friends and family feed each other. They call it Goosha.

Sister Martin goes to visit some sisters up the mountain sometimes and they stop by this waterfall for some photo opps.

Sister Martin is Sister Fevan's ministering partner.

The next week they went the same waterfall had less water.

And even a couple of the young missionaries came one of the times.

Elder Goodrich, Elder England and Abdi

This is our mission leader President Cowley, on a local TV news station. Some of the missionaries had the opportunity to plant trees for an annual tree planting event for Ethiopia.

We decided to crash one of our senior couples birthday party...Elder Oba. We all met at his favorite Japanese restaurant.

Nothing like Japan but pretty good food for Ethiopia.
