Clinic for Mothers - Friends - Family History Class - Sister came back - Miracle calls

We were excited to attend a handover ceremony for the completion of 2 Maternal Clinics in the town of Debre Zeit/Bishoftu. We were there with the Church partner, Engage Now Africa, who built the clinics using donated Church member funds.

They had a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The community presented Sister Martin, myself, President and Sister Cowley and others with some traditional Ethiopian "Habesha"  clothing. 

This cultural clothing with the red, black and white is from the Oromo region. The red represents sacrifice and the white freedom. This was a total unexpected surprise for us.

The new shirt/jacket went pretty good with my Scottish Royal Stewart necktie.

I talked to one of the clinical practitioners for a few minutes. 

Even thought this was a grand opening event, we went into one room and 3 women were resting after they had just had babies.

The traditional equipment looked a little old but better than birthing outdoors somewhere.  

Several people spoke including clinic and community leaders.

President Cowley was interviewed on local TV.

Found a new Italian restaurant that we enjoyed with our friend Michael. 

Saw some flames coming out of this outdoor oven when they were cooking our pizza.

Held our second Family History class on Sunday after church.

With today's verification codes, it's a challenge for some to set up accounts when they have neither a phone or an email.

So much work to do and so little time to do it.

On a different day I helped another brother draft a letter requesting some BYU pathway info.

Hard Boiled Egg and chicken curry...yum, yum.

Sister Udoekong was transferred back to our University branch. Happy, happy.

One of our good friends was just able to go to the Accra Ghana temple with his family and be sealed for time and eternity. So excited and such a happy day for them.
