Blood - Mother's Day event - Lionel Messi -

One of our lovely sister missionaries about to give blood.

All the sisters in the local branches were invited to a big Mother's day event and service project at Megenagna chapel. During the event they encouraged everyone to donate blood. Sister Martin tried but she didn't qualify.

Several of the Sister missionaries gave blood even though some were very apprehensive.

Pandemonium!

It was there first time doing it.

Looks like our Mission Leader is joining the fun!!

Lunch was served, ground hamburger meat on a bun with watermelon, papaya and cake. The sister on the right, Maria, is from Colombia living in Addis Ababa.

Their service activity included putting together some hygiene kits for destitute and needy women in the community. The local news media came to report and record this activity and it was broadcast on the local television station.

The sisters had the red carpet treatment as they entered and exited the activity. All sisters received a rose.

Our sister missionaries helped set up the blood drive outside. They had to wear the sterile white gloves.

They had a program with music and other activities.

"Mother I love you, Mother I do..."

This little Primary girl started speaking about her mother and began to cry...so sweet!

These sisters explained the two different styles of hygiene kits and the other contents that were included in the bag.

When we were volunteering at our weekly English tutoring, I decided to show the boys I was teaching a video of Lionel Messi soccer highlights after we finished. They all crowded in to see so Sister Martin took our picture.
Obviously, their ultimate hero.
